With ‘LIPS’, the imprint founder Jurgen Maelfeyt delivers a vapid series of images of exclusively white women wearing various shades of red lipstick. The photographs, ostensibly gathered from advertising campaigns and zoomed in and cropped, force our attention to focus on the women’s lips and nothing else. Shortlisted for Les Rencontres d’Arles Author Book Award.
